Following the lecture held at Northwest Normal University, Amalart continued its academic dialogue in Lanzhou through a second invitation from Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics.

The lecture, Italian Pasta and a Dialogue with Lanzhou, used one of the most recognizable symbols of Italian culture as a starting point to explore broader themes of identity, heritage and intercultural exchange.

The choice of the topic was particularly meaningful in Lanzhou, a city internationally renowned for its centuries-old noodle tradition and culinary heritage. Through the comparison between Italian pasta culture and the local gastronomic traditions of

Gansu Province, the discussion highlighted how food can become a powerful cultural language capable of connecting communities across different histories and geographies.

Beyond its culinary dimension, pasta was presented as an expression of territory, craftsmanship, social life and collective memory, illustrating how everyday cultural practices contribute to shaping national identities and international understanding.

Students and faculty members engaged in an open discussion on cultural storytelling, heritage promotion and the role of creativity in strengthening relationships between peoples and nations.
