HUBEI ART FESTIVAL
November 2017
Wanlin Art Museum (万林艺术博物馆) - Wuhan (China)
The event marked a significant milestone for Amalart, showcasing a remarkable display of artistry and culture. Hosted by the Hubei provincial government, supported by the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture, and meticulously organized by the Hubei Provincial Cultural Department, the festival emerged as a beacon of artistic excellence in the region. It featured a diverse array of performances, fine art exhibitions, and literary showcases that captivated audiences across Hubei Province.
The festival garnered immense praise, not only from the local attendees but also resonated with a global audience of over 3,000,000 netizens and more than 200,000 live spectators in 2016.
This remarkable success underscored the growing reputation of Amalart and the invaluable contribution of the talented artists who participated in the event.
The Wanlin Art Museum, a striking architectural masterpiece donated by Chen Dongsheng, chairman of Taikang Life, and designed by the acclaimed architect Zhu Pei, provided a stunning backdrop for the festival.
Situated at the heart of Wuhan University, this architectural marvel spanned 8410.3 square meters, with a unique design featuring three above-ground floors and one underground level. Renowned for its innovative construction, the museum's distinctive structure, with its notable overhang of 48 meters, appeared to defy gravity, leaving a lasting impression on all who visited.
As illustrated in the remarkable photos from the grand opening, the festival not only elevated the cultural landscape of Hubei Province but also highlighted its rich heritage and artistic diversity. Situated in the central region of the People's Republic of China, Hubei Province, often abbreviated as 'e', boasts abundant agricultural, forestry, and hydropower resources.
The province's thriving agricultural sector, coupled with industries such as iron and steel, machinery, and automobiles, has positioned it as a key economic hub in the country, with its capital city, Wuhan, serving as a vibrant cultural center.
